I used to have 3 mobile but the internet connection was not the best, that’s why I started to use Blikst and I find it very useful
The Blikst US Virgin Islands eSIM runs on T-Mobile, which operates right across the territory at 4G and 5G speeds. That matters here because the USVI sits on US networks and US plans, so you get proper domestic coverage rather than a patchy Caribbean roaming arrangement. You will have a solid signal on the main islands without the international surcharge most non-American carriers tack on.
Charlotte Amalie on St Thomas, where most cruise passengers land, has strong 4G and 5G near the harbour and up toward Crown Mountain. Cruz Bay on St John has consistent 4G, though it thins out at Trunk Bay, Maho Bay and the park-interior trails. Christiansted and Frederiksted on St Croix both have good 4G, with weaker signal in the rainforest near Ham's Bluff and Point Udall. Water Island and the smaller cays are patchy on their seaward sides.
Right after you buy, you will get a confirmation email with your eSIM details, so install it at home before you fly. You simply scan the QR code provided and the line activates automatically when you arrive in the USVI, giving you immediate connectivity. If you come in by ferry from the British Virgin Islands, your Blikst line registers on T-Mobile USVI, a separate network from BVI's Digicel, so expect a brief gap at the crossing.
Most modern smartphones work flawlessly with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. On an iPhone you can check eSIM support under Settings, General, About and look for an EID number; on Android it is in your network settings. If the EID is there and the handset is unlocked, you are good to go.
It depends on your trip. A cruise-ship day on St Thomas is comfortable on 500 MB. A long weekend on St John or St Croix suits 2 to 3 GB. A one-week stay across two islands with snorkelling, beach days and a little remote work fits around 5 GB. Two weeks of serious diving, sailing charters and working from the villa wants 10 to 20 GB, and a full month remote working from St John runs 20 to 50 GB.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop, tablet or a travel companion's phone. That is handy for remote work from a villa on St John or St Croix, though bear in mind most villa Wi-Fi is already adequate for video calls. If you are sharing across several devices, keep an eye on your data so a busy work day does not eat through your allowance faster than you expect.
This is a data-only plan, so calls and texts go over the internet rather than a traditional phone number. You can ring and message friends and family using apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime or Messenger whenever you have a signal. Because an eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM can stay in the phone, keeping your usual number active for anything important while you use Blikst data for everything else.
For most non-American travellers, yes. Because the USVI is a US territory, UK, EU, Australian and Canadian visitors are often billed as international Caribbean and charged around 10 to 15 dollars a day in roaming, while a Blikst plan covers your whole stay for less than two days of that. Worth noting: mainland AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile postpaid customers usually treat the USVI as domestic, so confirm with your home carrier first.
