The Blikst Asia regional eSIM covers fourteen places on one plan: Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. It's built for multi-country trips, so whether you're doing the Bangkok to KL to Singapore backpacker loop or a longer Tokyo to Seoul to Taipei circuit, you keep the same line and the same data pool the whole way.
It roams across local partners in each country: SingTel in Singapore, Hutchison in Hong Kong and Indonesia, Maxis in Malaysia, One NZ in New Zealand, Jazz in Pakistan, SK Telecom in South Korea, Mobitel in Sri Lanka, Taiwan Mobile or Chunghwa in Taiwan, Advanced Info Service in Thailand, Unitel or Uzmobile in Uzbekistan, and MOBIFONE in Vietnam. Speeds run up to 3G, 4G and 5G depending on where you are. You don't pick the carrier, the eSIM does.
Yes, it's a single plan with one shared data pool across all fourteen countries. When you cross a border, fly Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City or take a ferry between islands, the eSIM re-registers on the strongest local partner automatically within a few minutes of you landing and coming out of airplane mode. You don't toggle anything. Just remember the data is shared, so 10 GB means 10 GB total for the trip, not per country.
Right after purchase you'll get a confirmation email with your eSIM details and a QR code. Install the profile over Wi-Fi at home before you fly, scan the QR, confirm the eSIM line, and leave mobile data off until you land. The plan activates automatically on first data use in any covered country, so you get connectivity the moment you arrive. Setting up at home means you're online within minutes of landing.
Most modern smartphones work fully with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to be sure. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. On an iPhone you can confirm eSIM support under Settings then General then About, where you'll see an EID number; on Android it's in the network settings. If both are present and the handset is unlocked, you're good to go.
It depends on how far you're roaming. A one-week, two-country hop like Singapore plus KL runs fine on 3 to 5 GB. A two-week, four-country Southeast Asia loop suits about 10 GB. A month-long grand tour across six or seven countries with heavy maps and some video calls home should start at 20 GB. If you're remote-working from Bali, Chiang Mai or Taipei, go 50 GB. Maps and translation camera mode are the big data drains.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop, tablet or a travel companion's phone. Bear in mind the data pool is shared across the whole region and the entire trip, so hotspot use draws from the same allowance as your phone. If you plan to tether often or work remotely, size up your plan, for example to 20 or 50 GB, so you don't run dry mid-trip.
This is a data-only plan, so it doesn't come with a local phone number for traditional calls or SMS. In practice that's rarely a problem, you call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp, which is the default across South Asia and Australia and New Zealand, or FaceTime. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM can stay in the phone, keeping your usual number active for anything important.
