I used to have 3 mobile but the internet connection was not the best, that’s why I started to use Blikst and I find it very useful
It covers 36 countries from the UK and Ireland across to Turkey, taking in every EU member state plus much of the Balkans and the Nordics. That includes France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland), Greece, Croatia, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, the Canary Islands, Turkey and more. Note that Serbia, Bosnia, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova and the South Caucasus are not included.
The eSIM runs on a rotating set of national carriers rather than one operator. Depending on the country you are in, that means Vodafone, Orange, Tele2, O2, Telia, Three, Telemach, Proximus, NOS, Salt, Avea, Turkcell, Hutchison and others. Speeds are 3G, 4G or 5G depending on the country. Western Europe has blanket 4G and 5G in cities and along major motorways, while remote areas like Lapland and the Norwegian fjords thin out.
Yes. This single profile hands off between national carriers automatically as you cross borders, re-registering on the new country's partner network within minutes. Schengen crossings are transparent, so you often won't notice them. On trains like Eurostar, Thalys, ICE and Frecciarossa you'll see the network name change as you cross. On ferries such as Dover to Calais or Piraeus to Santorini, the connection reconnects as the boat nears port.
After you buy, you'll get a confirmation email with your eSIM details within minutes. Install the profile while you're on home Wi-Fi before you fly by scanning the QR code provided. Activation is automatic: the eSIM activates on arrival in Europe and attaches at any major hub such as Heathrow, Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid, Rome or Istanbul, connecting to whichever local carrier is the plan's partner in that country.
Most modern smartphones are fully compatible, though a few exceptions exist, so check Blikst's detailed compatibility list to confirm your device. Your phone also needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. On an iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID number; on Android, check the network or SIM settings. If your device shows an EID and is unlocked, you're good to go.
It depends on how far you roam. A one-week, two-country trip works comfortably on 5 GB. A two-week multi-country itinerary, say Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague and Vienna, wants around 10 GB. Three-week grand tours covering six or more countries fit 20 GB. Interrail travellers on a month-long European summer typically end up on 50 GB. Maps and navigation are usually the biggest drain when you move between cities daily.
Yes, tethering and hotspot use are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop, tablet or a travelling companion's phone. This is handy on long train journeys or in accommodation without reliable Wi-Fi. Keep in mind that hotspot use draws from the same data allowance and tends to consume it faster, especially with video streaming or large downloads, so pick a plan size that leaves headroom if you tether often.
This is a data-only plan, so it doesn't come with a local phone number for traditional calls or SMS. You can still call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, Signal or Telegram, which work fine on the data connection. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, you can leave your physical home SIM in the phone to keep your own number for important calls and texts.
