Lovely support, got an esim for UK. Had no issues.
I used to have 3 mobile but the internet connection was not the best, that’s why I started to use Blikst and I find it very useful
The Blikst Slovakia eSIM runs on O2 Slovakia's network, one of the country's main operators, with both 4G and 5G speeds. You get strong urban coverage across Bratislava, Kosice, Zilina and the Tatra belt, full 5G in Bratislava city centre and Stare Mesto, and 5G through most of Kosice's centre too. It's a reliable, fast connection for the places most travellers actually spend their time.
Coverage is strongest in the cities and along the main routes. Bratislava centre, Stare Mesto and out to Devin have full 5G, Kosice has 5G through most of its centre, and the D1 and D2 motorways carry usable 4G. The High Tatras are well covered by 4G, though signal drops above the treeline, so expect patchy service near Lomnicky stit. The Slovak Paradise canyons around Klastorisko and Hrabusice sit in blind spots, and rural eastern Slovakia is mostly 4G with occasional drops.
Right after purchase you receive a confirmation email with your eSIM details, then you scan the QR code provided to install the profile on your phone. Activation is automatic and kicks in when a Slovak tower first sees you, usually as you cross the Danube near Hainburg if arriving via Vienna, or immediately if you land at Bratislava. Install at home before you fly, cross the border, and the O2 line picks up on the first Slovak tower.
Most modern smartphones are fully compatible with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device. To check yourself, on iPhone go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID number, or look in your Android network settings. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you can see an EID and the phone is unlocked, you're almost certainly good to go.
It depends on your trip. A weekend in Bratislava works comfortably on 1 to 3 GB. A one-week Slovakia loop taking in Bratislava, a couple of Tatra nights, a Spis Castle day and a Kosice finish wants around 5 GB. Two weeks covering the full country, including Slovak Paradise hikes and Small Carpathians wine-country trips, fits 10 GB. If you're basing in Bratislava or Kosice for a month, go for 20 GB, especially as older-building apartment Wi-Fi can be unreliable.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop, tablet or a travelling companion's phone. That's handy if apartment or hotel Wi-Fi in older Slovak buildings turns out to be patchy, as the description notes can happen. Just remember that hotspotting pulls from the same data allowance, so a heavy video session on a second device will eat into your plan faster than browsing on your phone alone.
Blikst plans are data plans, so they don't come with a traditional phone number for calls or SMS. In practice that's rarely a problem: you can call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime or Telegram on your data. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM can stay in the phone, keeping your usual number active for any calls or bank texts you need while you travel.
For UK, US and other non-EU travellers, Slovakia roaming typically runs around 10 to 12 dollars a day, and a Blikst eSIM comes in well under that while skipping the passport-registration step a local O2 or Orange SIM needs at a shop. Bratislava airport SIM kiosks are convenient but pricier than buying in the city. If you're coming from another EU country, your home plan likely covers Slovakia under Roam Like at Home, so check your fair-use cap first.
