Lovely support, got an esim for UK. Had no issues.
I used to have 3 mobile but the internet connection was not the best, that’s why I started to use Blikst and I find it very useful
The Blikst Qatar eSIM runs on Ooredoo, which has Qatar's strongest 5G footprint. You get both 4G and 5G speeds, with dense 5G across Doha, West Bay, The Pearl, Lusail, Education City, Aspire Zone and Msheireb, and solid 4G running down towards the Saudi border and out to Al Khor. For a Doha stopover or a city break, that means fast, reliable data from the moment you land.
Doha and the wider city — West Bay, The Pearl, Lusail, Education City, Aspire Zone and Msheireb — all have dense 5G, and the metro stations from the airport to Msheireb have signal throughout. The highway out to Al Khor and Al Shamal is consistent 4G. Be honest with your expectations on desert trips: Khor Al Adaid (the Inland Sea) and the western coast towards Zekreet drop to 4G with occasional 3G fallback, strong at tour staging areas but patchy between the dunes.
Right after purchase you receive a confirmation email with your eSIM details, so delivery takes minutes. Install the profile at home over Wi-Fi by scanning the QR code, set the Qatar line as your default for data, then leave it on standby until you land. Activation is automatic — when you taxi in at Hamad International and switch off airplane mode, Ooredoo picks up the line on its own. No kiosk queue in arrivals.
Most modern smartphones work fully with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. To check eSIM support, look on iPhone under Settings, General, About for an EID number, or check your Android network settings. If your handset supports eSIM and is unlocked, you are good to go.
It depends on your trip. A 48-hour Doha stopover is ample on 1 to 3 GB. A one-week visit with museum days, desert tours and nightly dinners out suits about 5 GB. Business travellers on a two-week stint with heavy hotspot use should pick 10 GB or more. Remote workers staying longer are best on the 30-day plan at 20 GB or above. Maps and ride apps are the main everyday drain.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported on the Blikst Qatar eSIM, so you can share your connection with a laptop or tablet. This is especially handy for business travellers on longer stints who lean on a hotspot through the working day — just remember heavy hotspot use eats into your allowance quickly, so size your plan accordingly, with 10 GB or more a sensible choice if you tether often.
Qatar eSIMs are data-only, so they do not include a local calling or SMS number. The good news is your home physical SIM stays in the phone, keeping your own number active for SMS 2FA and iMessage. For calls back home, use WhatsApp or FaceTime — VoIP works fine on Ooredoo, as Qatar does not block major VoIP services the way some neighbouring countries have in the past.
Usually, yes. Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar sell tourist SIMs at Hamad International for roughly 50 to 100 QAR (about 14 to 27 US dollars) for 20 to 30 GB, but you queue at a counter with passport and entry stamp — overkill and overpriced for a short stay. US and UK carriers often charge around 10 to 12 dollars a day for Gulf roaming. A Blikst 7-day Qatar plan costs less and installs before you fly.
