It's built for travellers whose itineraries don't fit a neat regional shape: a year-long career break, a multi-stop work trip that bounces between London, Singapore, and São Paulo, or cruise passengers and long-haul crew who hit four continents in a month.
How the network selection works
The Global plan doesn't own any single network. It's a roaming SKU that attaches to a local partner wherever your device is — Vodafone in parts of Europe, SingTel in Southeast Asia, KDDI in Japan, Tele2 and Telia across the Nordics, T-Mobile in the US, Rogers in Canada, Pegaso in Mexico, Zain and Du in the Gulf, MTN and Airtel across much of Africa, Vivo and Telefónica across Latin America. The profile shows the local carrier name when it attaches, which is normal. Speeds range from 3G to 4G to 5G depending entirely on where you are.
Coverage and gaps
The included-countries list is long (see the catalogue for the current full list) and includes almost every major travel destination. A few notable absences: China is included, though VPN-dependent service behaviour there is unchanged from any other roaming option; Cuba, North Korea, Iran, and Syria are not in the footprint; some smaller Pacific and Indian Ocean nations aren't included. Check the coverage list on the product page before buying if you're headed somewhere unusual. Where a country isn't covered, the eSIM simply won't register — no accidental charges, just no service.
Cost vs. stacking single-country plans
For a trip that touches five or more countries, the Global plan is almost always cheaper than buying five individual eSIMs. It's also simpler to install and manage — one QR code, one profile, no mid-trip setup in a hotel room. Not every country in the list has 5G — some are 3G / 4G only, a handful are 3G-dominant. If you're headed somewhere where fast data genuinely matters (remote video work, large file uploads), a country-specific plan on a top-tier local carrier will often deliver better speed than a roaming profile. The Global plan is optimised for "works everywhere I'm going," not "fastest possible in any one place."
