I used to have 3 mobile but the internet connection was not the best, that’s why I started to use Blikst and I find it very useful
The Blikst Cyprus eSIM runs on MTN Cyprus' network, which is now operated as Epic, giving you 4G and 5G speeds. You get solid 4G across the island with 5G in the city centres of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos, plus along the A1, A5 and A6 motorways. Note this covers the Republic of Cyprus only; Northern Cyprus runs on a separate network and needs a separate plan.
Coverage is strong across the Republic. Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos all have solid 4G with 5G in the city centres and along the A1, A5 and A6 motorways. The Akamas peninsula, the Troodos interior and mountain villages like Pedoulas and Omodos drop to 4G in the valleys but stay usable. The crossings at Ledra Street and Agios Dometios are covered on the south side, but once you cross into Northern Cyprus you lose service on this plan.
Right after you buy, you'll get a confirmation email with your eSIM details, and activation is automatic. Install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly, since scanning the QR code needs an internet connection. When you land at Larnaca or Paphos and switch off airplane mode, the Cyprus line registers itself and connects. Turn off data roaming on your home SIM so it doesn't latch onto a Cypriot tower in the background.
Most modern smartphones are fully compatible with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. On an iPhone you can check eSIM support under Settings, General, About and look for an EID number; on Android it's in your network settings. If in doubt, our compatibility list is the quickest way to be sure.
It depends on your trip. A long weekend based in Paphos or Limassol works on 2 to 3 GB. A one-week road trip covering Paphos, Troodos and Agia Napa fits into 5 GB. Two weeks with deeper Troodos exploration, Akamas hikes and a couple of days in Nicosia sits comfortably in 10 GB. Remote workers staying a month at a Limassol long-let should look at 20 GB or more. Google Maps for mountain driving is the main drain.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop or tablet, which is handy if you're working from a Limassol long-let or sharing maps in the car. Your data allowance is shared between your phone and any tethered devices, so heavier hotspot use will get through your plan faster. If you'll lean on it a lot, choose a larger plan to be safe.
This is a data-only plan, so it doesn't come with a local Cypriot number for traditional calls or texts. In practice that's rarely a problem in Cyprus, where villa rentals, boat charter operators in Latchi and Agia Napa, and tour guides default to WhatsApp. You can call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM stays in the phone and keeps your usual number.
For most non-EU travellers, yes. UK, US and other non-EU home carriers typically charge around 10 to 12 dollars a day for Cyprus roaming, and a Blikst plan comes in well below that across any trip length. EU travellers on roam-like-home already have Cyprus in their domestic plan, so check before buying anything. A local Epic or Cyta SIM means finding a shop and showing ID, while the eSIM lands on the network directly.
