I used to have 3 mobile but the internet connection was not the best, that’s why I started to use Blikst and I find it very useful
The Blikst Latvia eSIM runs on Tele2 Latvia, one of the country's main mobile operators. You get 4G and 5G speeds, with full LTE across Riga, Jurmala, Daugavpils, Liepaja, Ventspils, Cesis and the main A-road corridors, plus 5G in central Riga and parts of Jurmala. It's a solid, modern network for navigation, ride-hailing and contactless payments wherever you travel.
Coverage is strong across the country. Riga, including the airport, old town and Moscow District, plus Jurmala, Cesis, Sigulda and the Gauja National Park gateway all have solid 4G, with 5G in central Riga and parts of Jurmala. Kurzeme in the west, including Liepaja, Ventspils and Kuldiga, is well covered. Honestly, expect 3G along some forested stretches in the south-east Latgale region, and signal dips under tree cover in the Gauja valley forests, Kemeri marshes and along longer hiking trails.
Right after you buy, you'll get a confirmation email with your eSIM details, so delivery takes just minutes. Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi by scanning the QR code provided. Activation is automatic: when you land at Riga International and switch airplane mode off, the Blikst profile registers on Tele2 Latvia by itself. Turn off data roaming on your home line first so you stay on the right SIM.
Most modern smartphones are fully compatible with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device works flawlessly. The phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. On an iPhone you can check eSIM support under Settings, General, About by looking for an EID number; on Android it's in your network settings. If in doubt, that quick check takes a moment.
It depends on your trip. A long weekend in Riga fits in 2 GB if you're at the hotel most evenings. A week covering Riga, Jurmala, Sigulda, Cesis and maybe Kuldiga sits on 3 to 5 GB with a rental car. Remote workers basing in Riga for a month should size 10 GB or higher. If you're doing a two-week Baltic loop adding Estonia and Lithuania, a regional Baltics eSIM is cleaner at borders.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop, tablet or a travelling companion's phone. That's handy for cafe and transit working sessions in Riga, or for keeping a second device online during day trips to Jurmala or Cesis. Just remember that hotspot use draws from the same data allowance, so heavier sharing will get through your plan faster.
This is a data plan, so it's built for mobile internet rather than traditional calls and texts. For talking and messaging you can use internet-based apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime or Messenger over the data connection, which works fine for keeping in touch home. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM can stay in the phone, so you keep your usual number for any calls or texts that need it.
For most travellers, yes. UK travellers post-Brexit often hit 6 pounds or more per day roaming depending on the plan, and US or other non-EU carriers typically charge 10 dollars or more a day; a Blikst plan on Tele2 Latvia for a week beats either. Physical Tele2, LMT or Bite SIMs are sold at Riga Airport but require ID registration. Note that EU travellers on roam-like-home plans may not need a separate eSIM, so check your home allowance first.
