The Blikst Jersey eSIM runs on the JT network (Jersey Telecom), the island's incumbent operator. You get 3G and 4G speeds, with solid 4G across the parishes and strong coverage along the coast road. JT knows the island better than anyone, so it's a sensible choice for getting online the moment you land at Jersey Airport or step off the ferry at St. Helier.
St. Helier, St. Brelade, St. Clement, Gorey and St. Aubin all carry 4G, and the A1 and A2 coast roads loop the island with consistent signal. The interior lanes around St. Ouen, St. Peter and Trinity are good on main routes but patchier on farm tracks. The north-coast cliff paths between Plemont, Greve de Lecq and Bouley Bay have 4G most of the way. The offshore islets, Les Ecrehous and Les Minquiers, sit outside coverage, so don't count on streaming during a low-tide kayak crossing.
Right after you buy, you'll get a confirmation email with your eSIM details and a QR code. Install the profile at home over Wi-Fi before you fly by scanning that code in your phone's settings. Activation is automatic: the eSIM provisions on JT and switches on the moment you arrive in Jersey. Just turn off airplane mode after landing at Jersey Airport, or arriving by ferry into St. Helier, and the Blikst line comes alive on its own.
Most modern smartphones work flawlessly with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device before you buy. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. To check eSIM support, look on iPhone under Settings, General, About for an EID number, or check the network settings on Android. If an EID appears, you're almost certainly good to go.
It depends on your trip. A long weekend in St. Helier with hotel Wi-Fi is comfortable on 1 to 3 GB. A full week covering the whole island, including coast walks, Durrell Wildlife Park and Mont Orgueil, fits 3 to 5 GB. A two-week family holiday with active beach days and plenty of navigation runs 5 to 10 GB. Business visitors spending a week in the St. Helier finance district with frequent video calls should pick 10 GB or higher.
Yes, tethering and hotspot use are supported, so you can share your Jersey connection with a laptop, tablet or a travelling companion's phone. That's handy for working from a cafe in St. Helier or checking live LibertyBus arrivals across the island. Hotspot data draws from the same allowance as your phone, so if you're tethering a laptop for video calls, lean towards a larger plan like 10 GB to be safe.
Blikst Jersey is a data plan, so it doesn't come with a local phone number for traditional calls or texts. In practice that's rarely a problem: you can call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime or Messenger on your data. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM can stay in the phone, so your usual number keeps receiving calls and texts as normal while you're away.
Almost always. Jersey is a Crown Dependency, not part of the UK, so UK eSIMs and carrier plans typically exclude it, and French SIMs drop out of EU roam-like-home rules at the Channel Islands border. UK carriers often charge around 5 to 10 pounds a day for Channel Islands roaming. A 15-day 3 GB Blikst Jersey plan undercuts just two days of those surcharges by a wide margin, with one QR code working from arrivals to the coast.
