I used to have 3 mobile but the internet connection was not the best, that’s why I started to use Blikst and I find it very useful
The Blikst Isle of Man eSIM runs on Manx Telecom, the island's incumbent operator. You get 4G across the populated areas and along the TT course loop, with 3G filling in some of the quieter inland stretches. It's the same network the locals rely on, so you're connected to the island's main infrastructure rather than patching through a foreign roaming partner.
Douglas, Ramsey, Peel, Castletown, Port Erin and Port St. Mary all have solid 4G, and the western coast road from Peel to Port Erin is well covered. The TT Mountain Course along the A18 has 4G for most of its length, though it dips around the Bungalow and the Creg-ny-Baa. The Central Valley, the Sulby Reservoir area and higher bridleways can drop to 3G, and the Calf of Man off the south-west tip sits outside the main coverage.
Right after you buy, you'll get a confirmation email with your eSIM details, so install the profile at home over Wi-Fi by scanning the QR code. It activates automatically on arrival: switch off airplane mode after landing at Isle of Man Airport and the line registers on Manx Telecom on its own. Arriving by Steam Packet ferry, signal picks up as you approach Douglas harbour and activates alongside the Sea Terminal.
Most modern smartphones work fully with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device before you travel. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. On iPhone you can check eSIM support under Settings, General, About and look for an EID number; on Android the option lives in your network or SIM settings. If it's there, you're good to go.
It depends on your trip. A long weekend in Douglas with hotel Wi-Fi works comfortably on 1 to 3 GB. A one-week visit covering the TT course, Laxey Wheel, Peel Castle and the southern glens fits 3 to 5 GB. Business travellers in Douglas for a week with video calls will want 5 to 10 GB. TT and Festival of Motorcycling visitors uploading videos and photos constantly should pick 10 GB or more.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop, tablet or a travelling companion's phone. Coverage on the island holds up reasonably well even during busy periods, though during TT and Festival of Motorcycling race week the peak-hour mast load around Douglas and Ramsey can slow speeds. That's a network congestion issue affecting everyone, not something specific to your eSIM.
This is a data plan, so it's built for mobile internet rather than traditional calls and texts. In practice that's no limit at all: you can call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime or Messenger, which work fine on the island's 4G. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM and number can stay in the phone, so people can still reach you on your usual number.
Almost always. The Isle of Man is a Crown Dependency outside the UK and the EU, so most UK carriers exclude it from domestic and European roaming bundles, leaving you with £5 to £10 per day surcharges. US carriers often class it as a rest-of-world zone at $10 or more a day. A Blikst 15-day 3 GB plan undercuts just two days of those charges and removes the guesswork over which bundles apply.
