I used to have 3 mobile but the internet connection was not the best, that’s why I started to use Blikst and I find it very useful
The Blikst Georgia eSIM runs on Cellfie, the Geocell/Cellfie Mobile network operating right across the country. You get 3G and 4G speeds, and Georgia's mobile internet is genuinely fast and cheap once you're on a local network, with 4G that competes with western Europe. Tbilisi in particular has strong 4G city-wide, so day-to-day browsing, maps and video calls all run comfortably.
Cellfie reaches Tbilisi with strong city-wide 4G, including the old town, Vake, Saburtalo and the funicular up to Mtatsminda. Batumi, Kutaisi and the Kakheti wine roads through Sighnaghi and Telavi all have solid 4G on the main routes. Be honest with yourself about the mountains, though: Stepantsminda, Mestia and the Khevsureti valleys have 4G in the villages but thinner signal on the passes, and expect drops on the Military Highway between Gudauri and Stepantsminda, especially in the tunnels and the Jvari Pass.
Right after purchase you'll get a confirmation email with your eSIM details, then you scan the QR code provided to install the profile. Do this over Wi-Fi before you fly. The plan activates automatically when you arrive in Georgia, so just switch off airplane mode on landing and it registers on Cellfie. Most visitors land at Tbilisi or Kutaisi, but if you cross overland from Turkey, Armenia or Azerbaijan it picks up Georgian towers once you're over the border.
Most modern smartphones are fully compatible with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so it's worth checking our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device works. As a quick test, your phone must be carrier-unlocked and eSIM-capable: on an iPhone look under Settings, General, About for an EID number, and on Android check your network or SIM settings for an eSIM or digital SIM option.
It depends on your trip. A long weekend in Tbilisi runs comfortably on 3 GB. A one-week Tbilisi-plus-Kazbegi trip fits about 5 GB. The classic two-week Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Svaneti loop comfortably uses around 10 GB. If you're a remote worker or digital nomad staying a month in Tbilisi, which is very popular thanks to the one-year visa-free stay, plan for 20 GB or more, especially with regular video calls.
Yes, tethering and hotspot use are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop or a travelling companion's phone. That's handy for working from a guest house in Tbilisi or staying online on the road. Bear in mind it relies on Cellfie's signal, so hotspot speeds will be excellent in the cities but limited in weaker mountain spots like the Military Highway or the Tusheti jeep tracks, where coverage thins out anyway.
This is a data plan rather than a traditional line, so it doesn't come with a local Georgian phone number for standard calls or SMS. In practice that's rarely a problem: you can call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime or Telegram. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM and number can stay in the phone, so you'll still receive your usual calls and texts if you keep roaming switched on.
Usually, yes. EU carriers typically bill Georgia as a rest-of-world destination because it's outside the roam-like-home zone, with common rates of around 5 to 10 euros per day, and UK, US and Australian carriers are similar or worse. A local Magti or Geocell SIM is cheap but means finding a shop with your passport. A Blikst plan sits on the Cellfie network and activates the moment you land, so you skip the shop visit entirely.
