The Blikst Fiji eSIM runs on Vodafone Fiji, which partners with Vodafone Group internationally. You get 3G and 4G speeds, with reliable 4G across the main island of Viti Levu — Nadi, Suva, Lautoka and the Denarau resort area all have solid 4G coverage. It's the broadest network on the islands, so it's a sensible choice for getting connected the moment you land at Nadi.
Coverage has two sides. Viti Levu is well covered: Nadi, Suva, Lautoka and Denarau have reliable 4G, the Queens Road along the Coral Coast (Pacific Harbour, Sigatoka, Natadola) is consistent, and the Kings Road has 4G in towns. Vanua Levu (Savusavu, Labasa) is 4G in towns, 3G elsewhere. The Mamanucas are good. The Yasawas have signal in main resort bays but dead zones between, thinning further north. Kadavu and the Lau Group are largely offline.
Right after you buy, you'll get a confirmation email with your eSIM details. Install the profile over Wi-Fi before you fly by scanning the QR code provided. The plan activates automatically on arrival: land at Nadi (NAN), switch off airplane mode, and it registers on Vodafone Fiji. If you're connecting to Nausori (SUV) in Suva, it works the same way. No queuing, no paperwork — you land already connected.
Most modern smartphones work fully with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so do check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device. The phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. On an iPhone you can check eSIM support under Settings, General, About by looking for an EID number; on Android it's usually under your network or SIM settings. If in doubt, check before you travel rather than at the airport.
It depends on your trip. A one-week Denarau or Coral Coast beach stay runs comfortably on about 3 GB, since most resorts have Wi-Fi and the eSIM mainly covers boat trips and drives. A two-week itinerary adding Yasawa hopping fits 5 to 10 GB, with offline boat days naturally limiting use. Honeymooners at a remote Taveuni or Kadavu lodge manage on a modest plan, while divers uploading photos daily might reach 10 GB in a week.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported, so you can share your connection with a laptop, tablet or a travel companion's phone. Bear in mind this only works where Vodafone Fiji has signal — reliable on Viti Levu and in the main resort bays, but patchy or absent on outer islands like the further Yasawas, Kadavu and the Lau Group. On long boat transfers offshore from Denarau marina, expect to lose signal for a couple of hours.
This is a data-only plan, so it doesn't include a local Fijian number for traditional calls or SMS. In practice that's how Fiji works anyway — resorts, dive operators and transfer drivers confirm plans over WhatsApp, often faster than email. You can call and message over the internet using apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime. Because an eSIM is a separate digital line, you can leave your home SIM in the phone and keep your usual number active.
For most travellers, yes. US carriers typically charge 10 to 12 US dollars a day for Fiji roaming, which adds up quickly over a holiday. Australian and New Zealand carriers sometimes offer better rates or regional bundles, so it's worth checking your specific plan. Vodafone Fiji and Digicel prepaid SIMs are sold at Nadi airport, but you'll queue with your passport and miss part of your resort transfer. A Blikst plan simply activates when you land.
