Sanft, einfach, funktioniert einfach.
The Blikst Anguilla eSIM runs on Digicel, one of the island's main mobile operators. You get 3G and 4G speeds, with 4G across the populated parts of Anguilla and the main coastal corridors. That is plenty for WhatsApp, maps, restaurant bookings and weather tracking, which is most of what you will actually do on a beach week here.
Digicel reaches The Valley (the capital), Sandy Ground, Island Harbour, Shoal Bay East, Meads Bay, Rendezvous Bay and the full west-end resort strip, all on 4G, plus the roads connecting them. Anguilla is only 26 km long, so there is no real dead zone on land, just slower stretches. Scrub Island, Dog Island and the uninhabited islets have no meaningful signal, and boat trips to Prickly Pear Cays or Sandy Island will be patchy to none.
Right after you buy, you get a confirmation email with your eSIM details, usually within minutes. Install it over home Wi-Fi before you fly by scanning the QR code provided. Activation is automatic: the plan switches on once you arrive in Anguilla. If you ferry in from Sint Maarten it registers as you clear Blowing Point immigration; flying into AXA, just switch off airplane mode after customs and the Digicel line connects.
Most modern smartphones work fully with Blikst eSIMs, though a few exceptions exist, so check our detailed compatibility list to confirm your device. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. On an iPhone you can check eSIM support under Settings, General, About by looking for an EID number; on Android it is in the network settings. If you see an EID and the handset is unlocked, you are good to go.
It depends on your stay. A day trip from Sint Maarten is fine on 1 GB. A long weekend at Shoal Bay suits 1 to 3 GB. A week-long beach stay at Meads Bay or Rendezvous Bay, with resort Wi-Fi carrying your streaming, fits comfortably on 3 to 5 GB. Two-week family villa rentals want around 10 GB. Long stays on the Work from Anguilla programme may need 50 GB or more, though villa Wi-Fi usually handles the bulk.
Yes, tethering and hotspot are supported, so you can share your Digicel connection with a laptop, tablet or a travelling companion's phone. That is handy for a villa stay or for a digital nomad working remotely. Remember that anything you tether comes out of the same data allowance, so for heavy laptop use lean on the villa or resort Wi-Fi and keep the eSIM for when you are out and about.
This is a data-only plan, so it does not come with a local phone number for traditional calls or SMS. In practice that is no problem in Anguilla, where boat charters, restaurant reservations and tour operators are all arranged over WhatsApp. You can call and message freely using apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime over the data. Because the eSIM is a separate digital line, your physical home SIM and number can stay in the phone.
Almost always. US carriers like Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile bill Anguilla at 10 to 12 dollars a day in their international packages, and post-Brexit UK carriers are similar, so a week of roaming for a couple can top 140 dollars in fees. A Blikst plan on the same Digicel network sits at a fraction of that. A local SIM means driving out to a Flow or Digicel shop in The Valley, not ideal on day one of a beach week.
